ADOR Tech offers The ultrasonic measuring system for the measurement of distance in air employs ultrasound to detect distance in the air, as opposed to the ultrasound system for the measurement of distance in materials, which uses ultrasonic converters to minimize attenuation caused by low-frequency acoustics.
Transmitted by an ultrasound converter, the sound propagates through the air until it encounters a reverberant surface, which partially reflects the sound that is being transmitted. There are two different types of acoustic converters: piezo-ceramic oscillators, which operate within a narrow bandwidth, and capacitive oscillators, which operate within a wide bandwidth without prominent resonance frequencies.
