Harbour Oil Boom
A robust, long-term oil spill containment boom engineered for ports, desalination plants, and petrochemical facilities. The Harbour Oil Boom is designed with two half-polyethylene (PE) floats mounted on a doubled Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) sheet. The PE floats feature rotationally molded, UV-stabilized, and filled with durable Polyurethane (PU) foam, providing exceptional buoyancy and stability in both calm and rough waters.
With no requirement for the bottom ballast to stay upright, the Harbour Oil Boom operates effectively and simplifies deployment. The end points of this oil containment boom are equipped with stainless steel or HDG hinge/flat plate end connections, ensuring maximum durability and containment performance in high-tide and vessel-traffic environments.

Solid Flotation Oil Boom
Solid floatation. Solid oil control.
PVC-coated, UV-stabilized floats filled with cylindrical Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) that create a floating oil boom with heavy-duty containment. The wire ropes and hot-dip galvanized chain ballasts are also equipped at the bottom and top of the floats to remain vertically on the water. Both ends of the floats are also connected using ASTM Z aluminum or zip-tie systems for lighter models, offering a flexible installation and deployment.
Due to their high strength and durability, Solid Floatation Oil Booms effectively operate across inshore, nearshore, and offshore. This type of oil spill containment boom prevents the spread of oil in environments with low to strong tidal currents, even in rough conditions. They can also be integrated with grab handles to ensure easier and smoother deployment or displacement.

Fence Oil Boom

The Fence Oil Boom is a lightweight, rapid-deployment solution to short-duration spill containment. This floating oil boom is engineered with flat Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) coated by durable, UV-stabilized PVC covers. Galvanized chain ballast is also equipped at the bottom of the floats to remain vertically on the water. Both ends of the floats are also connected using ASTM Z aluminum or zip-tie couplings for quick installation and sectional adaptability.

Product: Harbour Oil Booms
Location: Perro Negro 10
In November 2024, Saudi Aramco temporarily suspended operations of the Perro Negro 10 jack-up drilling rig. To address these challenges, a Fence Oil Boom around Perro Negro 10 was installed. This preventive barrier creates a physical blockade on the water’s surface, effectively containing any accidental oil discharges and preventing them from spreading into surrounding marine areas. As a result, it significantly reduces response times and potential cleanup costs.

Location: Kalba’s Alqurm
Recently, we deployed one of these booms in Kalba’s Alqurm Protected Area, with our Ecobarrier Harbour Boom installed in the fishing village’s harbour. It was installed due to the Sharjah government being concerned about the potential damage an oil spill could cause to the coastal areas of the Alqrum Protected Area, which has a diverse ecosystem, including seawater mangroves, swamps and salt marshes, as well as mudflats – all of which provide a safe breeding environment for several species of wildlife.
